In The Boys Season 3 Ep. 2: The Only Man In The Sky the investigation into what happened to Soldier Boy begins. Frenchie (Tomer Capon) and Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara) confront Crimson Countess (Laurie Holden), Soldier Boy’s widow, at Voughtland but things do not go as planned! Whilst Butcher confronts Soldier Boy’s former sidekick Gunpowder (Sean Patrick Flanery). MM (Laz Alonso) also rejoins The Boys.
Meanwhile Hughie (Jack Quaid) is on his own quest. He visits Red River orphanage and makes copies of all their records in the hope of finding more out about Victoria Neuman (Claudia Doumit) and Homelander (Antony Starr) receives some horrific news about Stormfront (Aya Cash) that pushes him ever closer to the edge.
Verdict: 8/10. The search for what happened to Soldier Boy gives the show a new angle to explore which in turn gives the audience a new array of characters to enjoy. There are some great character moments in this episode that clearly will have repercussions as the series progresses.
