Zapped opens with a wood cutter meeting a gruesome end, presumably from the world traveller we saw previously. Anyway it is making the Hawthorn the Fairy (Ricky Grover) nervous so it must be bad!
Meanwhile, (following on from the end of Episode 4) we find that Brian (James Buckley) has the amulet that can get him home, but it doesn’t work. He tries to fix it but eventual has to ask Howell (Paul Kaye) who tricks him into getting a book from the sinister Munty Library to help. Brian is told by the Head Librarian (Felicity Montagu) that the book must be back by night fall (which is apparently 10pm in Munty!).

Barbara is nervous cause her Mum Cassandra(Tracy-Ann Oberman) is coming to visit and in her preparation uses some moisturiser that Steg (Kenneth Collard) also samples. To Herman’s (Louis Emerick) delight Steg starts turning green and is mistaken for a goblin. This results in him being attacked by some men who are racist against Goblins but he is saved by a goblin named Nick Nak (Rich Fulcher) who takes him home believing him to be a fellow goblin.
Barbara and Brian bond over a drink after Herman disappears with Cassandra (she doesn’t come home that night!). Barbara almost reveals her true feelings to Brian but Brian has fallen asleep drunk.
As the episode develops so does Herman and Cassandra’s relationship, Brian and Howell’s bravery, and goblins hatred for humans pretending to be goblins!
This episode also contains wine in a box!
Verdict: 8.5 – The best episode of the season so far that once again allows the town of Munty to grow – we even get glimpses of life beyond Munty. The Munty 5 are as on point as ever and even managed to show some different sides to their personalities – especially Herman! The Goblins and the racism they experience and exhibit was a nice touch, as was the addition of the Munty Library to the town map. The tension of the traveller in the woods is being ramped up as is Brian’s desire to get the bracelet to work. The table has been set for the season finale!
