Following on from her rescue in Episode 2, Kamala (Iman Vellani) is with Kamran (Rish Shah) and his mother Najma (Nimra Bucha). Najma explains that her family are part of a group of enhanced beings known as Clandestines or “Djinn,” who were exiled from another dimension, and that Aisha was one of them. Najma tells Kamala that her bangle may just be their key in open a door and returning them to their own dimension,
Meanwhile, Agent Deever (Alysia Reiner) and her team of DODC agents attempt to search the neighbourhood mosque for any evidence of Kamala. Their heavy-handed approach sparks anger from the neighbourhood’s Muslim residents, especially Nakia (Yasmeen Fletcher) who puts them in their place.
Following the shock revelations, Kamala decides she wants to help the Clandestines get home, but Najma does not want to wait though and wants to force Kamala to help them, even if it means gate-crashing a wedding and doing it by force!
After Kamala’s escape she is contacted by her grandmother Sana (Samina Ahmad) who reveals that she also saw the vision of the train and insists that Kamala and her mother Muneeba (Zenobia Shroff) come to visit her in Karachi!
Verdict: 7/10. A fun episode that feels rushed in places. It almost just feels like a exposition dump. In a series that has been so well crafted so far this just feels like a bunch of stuff thrown together regarding the Clandestines. Hopefully this will be explored more in the next episode.
