Cobra Kai Season 3 Ep. 7: Obstáculos focuses on Samantha’s (Mary Mouser) mental traumas follwoing her battles with Cobra Kai. the episode opens with Sam having a knightmare where she and Tory (Peyton List) duel in the Miyagi-Do dojo. Daniel (Ralph Macchio) spends the day with Sam in order to help her overcome her fear of Tory and shares he experiences battling Mike Barnes (Sean Kanan) in Karate Kid 3.
Meanwhile Miguel (Xolo Maridueña) can finally walk again and heads back to school where he catches up on what has been going on and Johnny begins new dojo called “Eagle Fang Karate” in the park. Kreese and the Cobra Kai students turn up to confront Johnny. Kreese makes Johnny an offer to rejoin but he denouncess Kreese. Kreese tell Johnny he will regret the decision.
Verdict: 8. Samantha’s mental health has been a good focus in the show, and it is rare for shows like this to deal with the consequences of violence. Linking it once more to Karate Kid 3 is great forshadowing (I believe) for Season 4. Also who doesn’t want an Eagle Fang Karate t-shirt?
