Directed by John Woo, Blackjack follows Jack Devlin (Dolph Lundgren), a former U.S. Marshall who is working as a detective and bodyguard for Dr. Rachel Stein (Kate Vernon). The movie was originally intended to be a TV pilot but was amde into a movie after it became clear no series was forthcoming.
As mentioned, Devlin is hired to protect Stein but the job becomes more and more difficult as attacks get more and more dangerous. As a result Devlin meets with Tim Hastings (Fred Williamson) in an attempt to gain more information as to why the attacks keep happening.
Devlin has one problem though, years before he saved his friend’s daughter Casey (Padraigin Murphy) from hired assassins, but as a result of the attack Devlin is hit with a strange phobia – fear of the colour white!
Can he overcome his phobia and protect Dr, Stein?
