Cult Cartoon Essentials: Crystal Tipps and Alistair

Debuting in 1971, Crystal Tipps and Alistair followed the simple adventures of a young girl named Crystal Tipps and her dog Alistair. Occasionally they would be joined by Birdie and Butterfly. The show was created by Hilary Hayton and Graham McCallum and produced by Richard Taylor Cartoons. Fifty episodes were made (running at five minutes an episode) as well as a twenty minute 1973 Christmas Special.

The show had no dialog, instead it contained a full musical soundtrack composed by Paul Reade that emphasised what the characters were going through in the story. Although when screened in the U.S. a voice-over narration by Cosmo “Gus” Allegretti was added.
