Anyone that has ever been employed as a telemarketer knows just how daunting a task cold calling potential customers can be on a daily basis. The dark comedy, Death of a Telemarketer from Vertical Entertainment delves into that competitive dog-eat-dog world to deliver a unique motion picture with some terrifying elements.
Living on commission is easy if you are a top-notch salesperson like Kasey (Lamorne Morris). The veteran phone jockey has been raking in the big bucks for quite some time without any challengers, at least that was the case before Barry (Woody McClain), the new hire came on the scene.
On the verge of losing the biggest payday of his life, Kasey will do anything to succeed even if it means stealing the elusive Do Not Call list. Convinced that he has found the “perfect mark” in Asa (Jackie Earle Haley), Kasey attempts to pull off the con job to end all con jobs.
However, Asa won’t go down without a fight. Instead, Kasey finds himself at the mercy of a man who will put him through a twisted test of ethics where the penalty of not passing is death…
Death of a Telemarketer was written and directed by Khaled Ridgeway and also stars Haley Joel Osment and Alisha Wainwright. It will be released in theaters and VOD on December 3, 2021.
