Matt Houston

Created by Lawrence Gordon and running for three seasons (67 episodes) between 1982 to 1985, Matt Houston starred Lee Horsley as Houston, a rich Texas oilman who worked as a private investigator in Los Angeles. Houston was accompanied on his adventures by by his lawyer C.J. (Pamela Hensley) and his business manager Murray Chase (George Wyner). In the third and final season Matt’s uncle Roy Houston (Buddy Ebsen) joins in on their adventures.

Through the series guest stars included Dick Durock, Ray Walston, Joan Sweeny, Richard Herd, Scatman Crothers, James Shigeta, Branscombe Richmond, Simon MacCorkindale, Katherine Cannon, Lewis Arquette, Buck Taylor, Apollonia Kotero, Joan Chen, Tony Brubaker, Frank Welker, H.B. Houston’s adventures see him and the team come up against blackmail, murder, poisoning, severed heads, sharks, kidnap, robots, UFO’s, land scams, stalkers, Chinese drug smugglers, unions, art forgery, child prostitution, psychics, serial killers, amnesia, and religious cults amongst other things!
