Famous video label VIPCO are back and they have put out their first release of 2020 on DVD and Blu-ray, the VHS documentary VHS FOREVER? PSYCHOTRONIC PEOPLE.
VHS FOREVER? PSYCHOTRONIC PEOPLE is a feature length documentary taking a look at the explosion of movies that became available on VHS in the U.K. Taken from the perspective of those who tried to unearth that elusive movie at all costs known as psychotronic cinema.
Mark Williams, Co-Director of the documentary had this to say:
After a chance meeting at a Film Collectors Convention in Blackpool back in 2013 both myself and co-director Darren J Perry wanted to shoot a film entirely on VHS to give it real authentic retro feel, so we both mutually agreed that due to due our affection for the VHS format, a feature length documentary would be the most viable option as it would be very cheap to film interviews hard and fast and on the fly, so I suggested to Darren that we should make a documentary on our mutual long-time friend Tony M Clarke the once owner of the infamous Psychotronic Store then based in Camden, London, along with other VHS collectors and also well known genre celebrities such as Caroline Munro, Lloyd Kaufmann & acclaimed British Film critic Kim Newman.
The film was a real labor of love for us,so I’m so pleased that it has been fully embraced by fellow film collectors and especially the serious VHS collectors themselves.
VHS lives!!
The DVD and Blu-ray are both REGION FREE and features a whole slew of extras that will appeal to genre fans.
