Eddie Hassell killed at age 30

It is Cult Faction’s sad duty to report that Eddie Hassell was killed early Sunday morning in Texas over what is being reported as a carjacking. He was 30 years old.

Hassell was known for playing Phil Nance in the science fiction show Surface. Nance was the best friend of Miles Barnett (Carter Jenkins) and helped him raise and protect Nim. He also played the role of Eddie Suarez in Devious Maids. Eddie was convicted for a murder that he didn’t commit and was forced to spend many months in prison while his mother went undercover and investigated on his behalf, hoping to find the true identity of the person who killed the woman he loved. He also appeared in Joan of Arcadia, The Kids Are All Right, Family Weekend, Til Death, 2012, Longmire, Jobs, Bones, Southland, Warrior Road, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, and Bomb City.
