FX to produce Carrie TV series

According to Deadline, Stephen King’s Carrie is being adapted into a limited series by FX. Apparently the adaption is still in its early stages, and a writer is not yet attached. There are no further details.

Carrie first hit the big screen in 1976 directed by Brian De Palma and starring Sissy Spacek, Piper Laurie, Amy Irving, Nancy Allen, William Katt, P. J. Soles, Betty Buckley, and John Travolta. Then in 1988 Carrie became a Broadway musical and has since been adapted many times in that medium.

A sequel to the initial movie, The Rage: Carrie 2, was released in 1999 starring Emily Bergl, Jason London, and Dylan Bruno.

Whilst in 2002, David Carson directed a TV adaption of the novel starring Angela Bettis, Patricia Clarkson, and Rena Sofer.

Another adaptation was penned by Roberto Aguirre Sacasa and directed by Kimberly Peirce. This was released in 2013 and starred Chloë Grace Moretz, Julianne Moore, and Gabriella Wilde.
