The Incredible Hulk (1982)

The original Hulk cartoon debuted in 1966 and then nobody bothered trying to make another until 1982. The series came about after The Hulk and Bruce Banner made an appearance on Spider-Man & His Amazing Friends which served as a backdoor pilot for this series. It would exist in the same cartoon universe with certain villains crossing between shows like Dr. Octopus (voiced by Stan Jones in both shows).

Narrated by Stan Lee, this new 13 episode cartoon series kept a lot closer to the comics than the previous cartoon and live action tv series with the focus being on Dr. Bruce Banner’s (voiced by Michael Bell) attempts to cure himself of his transformations into the Hulk (voiced by Bob Holt). In the meantime various monsters, villains, and the army would turn up to annoy the Hulk!

One significant episode of the series was Episode 11: Enter the She-Hulk, where Bruce and Rick travel to Los Angeles to visit Bruce’s cousin Jennifer Walters (voiced by Victoria Carroll) to try to learn how she is able to maintain her intelligence when she changes into the She-Hulk, but their attempt is endangered thanks to the efforts of terrorist group HYDRA trying to take over the city.
