Robert Walker Jr.

Robert Hudson Walker Jr. was born on April 15th 1940 in Queens, New York, the son of actors Robert Walker (Strangers on a Train) and Jennifer Jones (The Towering Inferno). He grew up going to The Lawrenceville School near Princeton before beginning his acting career.

Robert made his TV debut on 3rd October 1957 in the television show First Performance. He appeared in Season 3 Episode 1: Seeds of Power as Arjun Ghanshyam. Roles started to come in over the new few years including appearances in The Unforeseen, The Golden Showcase, Route 66, Naked City, the Hook, The Eleventh Hour, Dr. Kildare, The Defenders, and The Big Valley.

In 1966, Robert appeared in the Star Trek episode Charlie X as Charlie Evans – a 17-year-old adolescent and social misfit with psychic powers. Charlie was the sole survivor of a transport ship that crashed on the planet Thasus. For 14 years, Charlie grew up there alone, stranded in the wreckage, learning how to talk from the ship’s computer systems which remained intact.

Further roles followed in Combat!, The Time Tunnel, The Invaders, The Happening, Bonanza, Easy Rider, Son of the Blob, The Man from O.R.G.Y., Columbo, The Spectre of Edgar Allan Poe, Death in Space, Cannon, The Streets of San Francisco, Quincy M.E., Police Woman, and Evil Town.

In 1978, Robert was cast in a two part adventure of The Six Million Dollar Man, he followed this up with roles in Charlie’s Angels, CHiPS, Matt Houston, The Fall Guy, Simon & Simon, Riptide, Dallas, and Dragnet.

In 1987 Charlie appeared in his first of two different roles in Murder, She Wrote. Other roles at that time included Fatal Charm, In the Heat of the Night, L.A. Law, The New Adam-12, The New Lassie, Santa Barbara, and in 2017 he appeared in Lock It Up Dog.
