Cult Movie Essentials: Supersonic Saucer (1956)

Based of an original story by Frank Wells, Guy Fergusson’s (credited at the time as S. G. Fergusson) Children’s Film Foundation movie Supersonic Saucer is a film that has more than a passing resemblance to Steven Speilberg’s E.T. which appeared over twenty-five years later. The film follows a group of young boarding school children who are forced to spend the holidays at their boarding school because either their parents do not want them back or that they cannot afford to go home.

Through their adventures they discover an alien from Venus who travels by turning himself into a flying saucer.

The children must protect the alien from a gang of criminals who are trying to kidnap him until the alien is safe to return home once more.
