We all know just how dedicated Pokemon fans are but it seems now they have been pushed to far to the point they are now protesting in front of the Japanese Consulate in Hong Kong. The reason? The want to stop Nintendo from changing the name of the most iconic Pocket Monster of all time… the one they call Pikachu!
This has all come from the fact that Nintendo have confirmed they will be supporting both Simplified and Traditional Chinese in Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon for a simultaneous release across Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.
Now at first glance this seems like a great idea to spread the Pokemon brand but then they realised that many of the Pokemon would have different names due to the different dialects. This has agitated a great deal of longtime fans residing in Hong Kong particularly. As a result, protesters have begun to gather en masse in hopes of stopping Nintendo from executing any title changes.
