Apple TV+ has revealed the title of its Godzilla spin-off series, Monarch: Legacy of Monsters. They note that the series will follow on from the battle between Godzilla and the Titans that destroyed San Francisco and proved to the world that monsters are real! The plot will centre on two siblings, who are following in their father’s footsteps to uncover their family’s connection to the secretive organization known as Monarch.
Clues lead them into the world of monsters and ultimately down the rabbit hole to Army officer Lee Shaw, taking place in the 1950s and half a century later where Monarch is threatened by what Shaw knows. The dramatic saga — spanning three generations — reveals buried secrets and the ways that epic, earth-shattering events can reverberate through our lives!
It will star Kurt Russell and Wyatt Russell as Lee Shaw in the present and in the 50s respectively. Also part of the show’s cast are Anna Sawai, Kiersey Clemons, Ren Watabe, Mari Yamamoto, Anders Holm, Joe Tippett, and Elisa Lasowski.
Monarch: Legacy of Monsters will have a total of 10 episodes and will premiere “late 2023” only on Apple TV+.
