It is Cult Faction’s sad duty to report that legendary director Albert Pyun has passed away at the age of 69 years old. Pyun was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and dementia many years ago and spent his final days in a hospice with his wife, producer Cynthia Curran reading him personal messages from fans. The sad news of his passing was revealed on her Facebook page:
“I sat with him for his last breath that sounded like he was releasing the weight of the world.”
Pyun shot to fame with 1982’s The Sword and the Sorcerer, and would go onto direct Radioactive Dreams, Alien from L.A, Cyborg, Bloodmatch, Dollman, Nemesis, Vicious Lips, Raven Hawk, Brainsmasher…A Love Story, Down Twisted, Captain America (1990), Kickboxer 2: The Road Back, Kickboxer 4: The Aggressor, Nemesis 2, Nemesis 3: Prey Harder, Omega Doom, Max Havoc: Curse of the Dragon, Bulletface, Cyborg Nemesis: The Dark Rift and a whole lot more.
