Rage (1995)

Directed by Joseph Merhi, Rage stars Gary Daniels as Alex Gainer, a husband, a father and second grade teacher. He is such a nice dad he sings ‘The Wheels on the Bus’ to his daughter while driving his daughter to her friends’ place for a sleep over. Suddenly a man on the run from the law dives into Alex’s car and forces his to speed away at gunpoint. With the Police chasing Alex has no choice and is beaten up by the Policemen as they believe in league with the gun man.

This is when it all turns a bit Captain America because when Alex wakes up, he discovers he is in a military laboratory being experimented on. They inject him with chemicals because it turns out Alex is the perfect physical specimen for their “super soldier” experiment! The experiment works too well, and Alex breaks free until he is subdued by Special Agent Parrish (Tim Colceri) and his electric shock stick! After all that effort the decision is made to kill Alex by pushing him off a cliff in a car to make it look like an accident. Alex’s survives and goes on the run!

Alex’s escape causes Parrish to get the media involved and soon reports are everywhere that Alex Gainer snapped, and he is now a crazed murdering psychopath. A wide variety of action movie clichés then play out as Alex fights to clear his name!
