The Powerpuff Girls’ live action tv series recently got its director in Maggie Kiley and now it has its Girls in the forms of Chloe Bennet, Dove Cameron, and Yana Perrault! The series will pick up with the girls in adult life and we see how they are coping!
Bennet will portray Blossom Utonium, the former heroine who now has “several advanced degrees.” Blossum also suffers from a repressed kiddie-superhero trauma that has left her feeling anxious and reclusive. Blossom aims to become a leader again — “this time on her own terms.”
Cameron plays Bubbles Utonium, a heroine “whose sweet-girl disposition won America’s hearts as a child. She still sparkles as an adult, but her charming exterior belies an unexpected toughness and wit. She’s initially more interested in recapturing her fame than saving the world, but she just might surprise us and herself.”
Finally, Perrault will portray Buttercup Utonium. While Bettercup was formerly “the rebellious badass” of the team, she is “more sensitive than her tough exterior suggests.” The story also states that “Buttercup has spent her adulthood trying to shed her Powerpuff Girl identity and live an anonymous life.”
