Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Emily Blunt will star in the big screen adaption of the comic book Ball and Chain. Debuting in 1999, Ball and Chain was a four issue miniseries created by Scott Lobdell and Alé Garza. It follows married couple Edgar and Mallory Bulson, who after three years of a tumultuous marriage, have decided to throw in the towel. That was the plan anyway, until a mysterious meteor bathed the battling couple in extraterrestrial energies that gives them super-powers! The question remains, will their newfound abilities be enough to make their marriage work especially when they realise their new powers only work in tandem together.
Johnson and Blunt will play Edgar and Mallory Bulson with Oscar-nominated writer Emily V. Gordon adapting the comic with Kevin Misher producing alongside Johnson and his Seven Bucks partners Dany and Hiram Garcia, while Blunt will produce as well. Several studios have already made bids with Netflix appearing to be the current frontrunner.
