Marta Estela DuBois was born on December 15th 1952 in David, Chiriquí, Panama. She debuted on the big screen as Shady Landeros in 1979’s Boulevard Nights and would go on to appear in Vega$, McClain’s Law, Shannon, Voyagers!, and Grace Kelly. In 1982 she was cast in the recurring role of Princess Kogi in Tales of the Gold Monkey.
Following Tales of the Gold Monkey she appeared in Hardcastle and McCormick, Matt Houston, The A-Team, Trapper John M.D., Riptide, Crazy Like a Fox, Starman, MacGyver, L.A. Law and Harlem Knights.
Between 1981 and 1988 she had the recurring role of Michelle Hue in Magnum P.I. Michelle was the love of Magnum’s life. She and Magnum married in Vietnam but the marriage was invalidated legally in Michelle’s eyes when her first husband, a North Vietnamese general who was presumed dead, resurfaced. Magnum had believed that Michelle died during the 1975 evacuation of Saigon but she reappeared.
Further roles included Ellie Mendez in The Trial of the Incredible Hulk, She-Wolf of London, Matlock, Land of the Lost, Murder She Wrote, Walker Texas Ranger, Renegade, Silk Stalkings, and as Ardra in the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode Devil’s Due.
In 2005 she was cast as Sgt. Roberta Hansen in McBride: The Chameleon Murder, she would reprise this role for a further nine McBride TV movies – the final one being McBride: Dogged in 2009.
Roles followed in Bones, Law & Order: LA, and Lone Rider. Her final role was in 2015 in Click Gospel Now. Sadly on May 8th 2018, DuBois died of a brain aneurysm in Los Angeles, California, she was 65 years old.
