Based on Whitley Strieber’s book of the same name, Communion was directed by Philippe Mora and begins in 1985 where it follows New York based author Whitley Strieber (played by Christopher Walken). Whitley has everything and lives with his wife Anne (Lindsay Crouse) and child in Manhattan. Then one night he is woken by paranoid dreams about someone else being in the room. On another night whilst away at the family cottage the intruder alarm goes off and Whitley spots a strange face watching him from the doorway before bright lights fill the cottage windows! Upon his return home Whitley hzs a number of strange dreams and visions that put a huge strain on his personal and professional life.
After an incident at their cottage, Whitley begins to convince himself that aliens are inside the home and at one point pulls his gun out and almost shoots his wife. Following this he is finally convinced to see a psychiatrist specialising in hypnotic regression therapy Dr. Janet Duffy (played by Frances Sternhagen) where the truth about Whitley and the aliens is finally revealed!
