Geoffrey “Catweazle” Bayldon passes away at the age of 93

It is Cult Faction’s sad duty to report that Catweazle himself, Geoffrey Bayldon, has died at the age of 93, his agency has confirmed.

Bayldon was best known for playing the lead role in TV series Catweazle but he also played a number of other memorable roles including The Crowman in Worzel Gummidge and roles in To Sir With Love, The Pink Panther Strikes Again, Horror of Dracula, Secret Agent, The Woman in White, The Avengers, Porridge, The Saint, Casino Royale, The House That Dripped Blood, The Doctors, The Adventures of Black Beauty, The Tomorrow People, Space: 1999,  Tales of the Unexpected, Star Cops, Dramarama, Prince Caspian and the Voyage of the Dawn Treader, and Steptoe and Son Ride Again.

He famously turned down the lead role in Doctor Who twice, but did make an appearance on the show in 1979.

Founded Cult Faction in 2014; previously crawled out of the Black Lodge in 1976, only to find himself in the Village.
