Preview: DOCTOR WHO – THE CURSE OF THE FUGUE

She’s back – and it’s about time! Sheridan Smith returns to Big Finish as Lucie Miller for a brand new Eighth Doctor Short Trip…

February 1974 is grimmer than usual for the British. Huddling together by candlelight the nation endures regular power cuts, however the situation is far worse for one old woman. Out of the dark come visitors who know of her terrible burden of wartime secrets. All she fought to save is threatened. Whom can she trust? The troubled ghosts which plague her, a young man who has befriended her, or her new carer Lucie and her strange friend, The Doctor?

Written by Alice Cavander, Doctor Who – Short Trips: The Curse of the Fugue is the long-awaited return of beloved Doctor Who companion Lucie Miller, performed by original actress Sheridan Smith. Download this website exclusive title today for just £2.99!

Lucie Miller will return in 2017 in Doctor Who: Flashpoint, a story by Andrew Smith. You can subscribe to both the 2016 and 2017 runs of the Monthly Short Trips at a considerable saving, with a new story appearing in your account every month as soon as they are released. You can also buy the entire 2015 run of Short Trips as part of a bundle, with four volumes of earlier tales still available to order on CD.

Still to come in 2016, Peter Purves performs May’s Doctor Who: This Sporting Life, followed in June by Anneke Wills’ reading of Doctor Who: Lost and Found. July sees the release of the first ‘Short Trip Special’ Doctor Who: The Blame Game, read by Rufus Hound as the Meddling Monk. The series continues with new stories for the Third Doctor (Tim Treloar), Adric (Matthew Waterhouse) and Peri (Nicola Bryant): click here for full details.

For extra adventures, you can subscribe to the Doctor Who Main Range, where every three months an exclusive Short Trip is added to your account – including Doctor Who: The Monkey House by Nic Ford, a new story for the Fifth Doctor, Nyssa, Tegan and Turlough available with subscriptions containing Doctor Who: The Two Masters.

All of the Eighth Doctor and Lucie’s travels together are still available to order now and can be found in the Doctor Who: The Eighth Doctor Adventures range, with special bundles of all four series also available.
