The CW has released the first trailer for the season 2 finale of Supergirl from the episode entitled Nevertheless, She Persisted:
“Supergirl challenges Rhea (guest star Teri Hatcher) to battle to save National City. Meanwhile, Superman (guest star Tyler Hoechlin) returns and Cat Grant (guest star Calista Flockhart) offers Supergirl some sage advice.”
A leaked set photo has revealed that Peter Gadiot (Once Upon A Time in Wonderland, Queen of the South) will be playing Mister Mxyzptlk in an upcoming episode of Supergirl. It would seem Gadiot’s interpretation will differ from the source material:
The CW has released all four episode descriptions for the upcoming Invasion crossover betweenSupergirl, The Flash, Arrow, and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.
Titled “Medusa,” the Supergirl episode that kicks things off on Monday, November 28th 2016 is described as follows:
“Eliza (guest star Helen Slater) comes to town to celebrate Thanksgiving with her daughters. Alex (Chyler Leigh) decides it’s time to come out to her mother; Kara (Melisa Benoist) is shocked when Eliza suggests Mon-El (Chris Wood) has feelings for her, and Winn (Jeremy Jordan) and James (Mehcad Brooks) consider telling Kara the truth about the Guardian. Meanwhile, CADMUS unleashes a virus that instantly kills any alien in the vicinity so Kara enlists an unexpected ally – Lena Luthor (Katie McGrath). The epic superhero crossover kicks off tonight when Barry Allen (guest star Grant Gustin) and Cisco Ramon (guest star Carlos Valdes) seek Kara’s help with an alien invasion on their Earth.”
Titled “Invasion!” The Flash episode that follows on Tuesday, November 29th 2016 is described as:
“When aliens called the Dominators attack Central City, Barry (Grant Gustin) speeds over to Star City to ask the Green Arrow (guest star Stephen Amell) for help in stopping them. Realizing the battle against the Dominators is bigger than they thought, they track down the Legends of Tomorrow, and Barry and Cisco (Carlos Valdes) create a breach to bring back a secret weapon – Supergirl (guest star Melissa Benoist). Once all of the super friends are assembled, they come up with a plan to attack but a shocking secret related to Flashpoint is revealed and suddenly no one is sure who they can trust. Meanwhile, Wally (Keiynan Lonsdale) wants to join the battle against the aliens but Iris (Candice Patton) tells him he’s not ready.”
Also titled “Invasion!” the Arrow episode on Wednesday, November 30th 2016 is described as:
“Oliver (Stephen Amell) wakes up to a life where he never got on The Queen’s Gambit. Robert (guest star Jamey Sheridan) and Moira Queen (guest star Susanna Thompson) are alive and well. Laurel (guest star Katie Cassidy) is his loving fiancée and their wedding is imminent. Everything seems perfect, but Oliver starts to notice small imperfections that make him question this new reality. Meanwhile, Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) and the recruits take on a new threat with help from The Flash (guest star Grant Gustin) and Supergirl (guest star Melissa Benoist).”
Finally, the DC’s Legends of Tomorrow episode that concludes it all on December 1st 2016 is titled “Invasion!,” and is described as:
“After learning the Dominators’ plan for the world, the Legends must work together with The Flash (guest star Grant Gustin), Supergirl (guest star Melissa Benoist) and Green Arrow (guest star Stephen Amell) to kill them once and for all. Meanwhile, Stein (Victor Garber) figures out, with the help of others, how the team can terminate the Dominators, but is distracted by the aberration he realizes he created in 1987. Brandon Routh, Franz Drameh, Dominic Purcell, Maisie Richardson-Sellers, Nick Zano and Caity Lotz also star.”
The Invasion crossover event will feature the likes of Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen/Green Arrow, Melissa Benoist as Kara/Supergirl, Grant Gustin as Barry Allen/The Flash, plus Caity Lotz as Sara Lance/White Canary, Nick Zano as Nate Heywood/Steel, Maisie Richardson- Sellers as Amaya Jiwe/Vixen, Dominic Purcell as Mick Rory/Heat Wave, Brandon Routh as Ray Palmer/Atom, David Ramsey as John Diggle, Carlos Valdes as Cisco Ramon, Emily Bett Rickards as Felicity Smoak, and the return of Katie Cassidy as Laurel Lance.
Stephen Amell is currently all over Twitter posting teasers to Arrow‘s 100 episode.
From what he has posted it would seem Grant Gustin is in as The Flash, Victor Garber as Martin Stein, Katie Cassidy as Laurel Lance, Franz Drameh as Jefferson Jackson, Melissa Benoist as Supergirl, and in some form or other Deathstroke The Terminator!
Praise be the Multiverse! We got excited when it was announced that Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) was moving to the CW to tie in better with Arrow, The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow but this new official announcement has let the world know that Supergirl will not be coming alone…

Supes has been “in the show” with an appearance in the opening credits of the show and a young Kal El popping up in the episode Black Mercy nut now someone will be officially cast in the role!
Peter Facinelli (The Twilight Saga, Nurse Jackie) is moving to National City, joining the cast of the highly-anticipated upcoming CBS/Warner Bros. Television action/drama series “Supergirl” in the recurring role of DC Comics character Maxwell Lord.
The announcement was made at Comic-Con 2015 during the “Supergirl” portion of the three-hour Warner Bros. Television Presents A Night of DC Entertainment special event in Hall H on Saturday, July 11.
Sometimes a villain, sometimes a hero, Maxwell Lord has a storied past with the DC Comics Universe as a powerful business man involved with the Justice League. On “Supergirl,” Maxwell is a green tech billionaire who enjoys a friendly rivalry with Cat Grant and a fascination with National City’s newest arrival — Supergirl.
“Supergirl” executive producer Andrew Kreisberg said, “Greg [Berlanti], Ali [Adler] and I have been fans of Peter for years. We’re beyond thrilled to have him join us on Supergirl’s first adventures bringing the iconic Maxwell Lord to life.”
Based on the characters from DC Comics, “Supergir”l is from Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television. The series debuts Monday, October 26, at a special time of 8:30/7:30c on CBS, and will then air Mondays at 8/7c. “Super girl” stars Melissa Benoist as Kara Danvers/Kara Zor-El/Supergirl, Mehcad Brooks as James Olsen, Chyler Leigh as Alexandra “Alex” Danvers, Jeremy Jordan as Winslow “Winn” Schott, with David Harewood as Hank Henshaw and Calista Flockhart as Cat Grant. CBS’ Supergirl pilot started filming this week and we finally got a look at star Melissa Benoist (Whiplash, Glee) looks like in her full super-gear.
Here we see Benoist – as Kara Danvers/Kara Zor-El – in a costume designed by three-time Oscar winner Colleen Atwood, who also designed the costumes for Supergirl executive producer Greg Berlanti’s other two DC Comics shows, The Flash and Arrow.
