“Heʼs the greatest, heʼs fantastic, wherever there is danger heʼll be there.”

Under a post box “somewhere in Mayfair” our furry secret agent duly receives his instructions from the spluttering Colonel K. Then itʼs into the Mousemobile with trusty sidekick Penfold in tow – and so begins another adventure for our righteous rodent!

Featuring the voices of David Jason, as our eponymous hero, and Terry Scott as Penfold, Danger Mouse The Complete Collection on DVD contains every episode ever made of the original 10 series brought to you by Fabulous Films! It also stars Edward Kelsey, Brian Trueman, and Jimmy Hibbert.

Danger Mouse was based on the 1960s television series Danger Man starring Patrick McGoohan. Penfold was based on a doodle Brian Cosgrove did of his brother Denis who was northern editor of the Sunday Express, was bald and wore heavy black glasses. The series ran in the UK from 1981 until 1992. Although Danger Mouse was nominated for 11 Bafta awards during this time it didn’t win any. Viewing figures for the show were higher than Coronation Street’s at one point in the early 80s. In 1984, the show (along with Belle and Sebastian) became the first animated show to appear on Nickelodeon in the United States and quickly became the second most popular show on the channel (after You Can’t Do That On Television).

Danger Mouse was revived in 2015. Brian Cosgrove was creative consultant, Alexander Armstrong was the voice of Danger Mouse and Kevin Eldon voiced Penfold.

David Jason had just started Only Fools and Horses and was relatively unknown when he agreed to voice Danger Mouse. Terry Scott had just done Terry and June and being more well known seemed a bit sceptical about voicing Penfold at first but soon threw himself into the part.

In 1998 American musician & producer Danger Mouse took his name from the animated mouse secret agent, initially performing in a mouse costume because he was too shy to show his face.

Extras: Interviews with Brian Cosgrove and Mark Hall, pilot episode – The Mystery of the Lost Chord, Danger Mouse and Friends – Cosgrove Hall Documentary, exclusive behind the-scenes footage, Danger Mouse games, original theme tune ideas, animated shorts, photo galleries.
