‘The Foreboding: Fractured’, a short horror film will be having it’s world premiere at the Horror-On-Sea Film Festival on Saturday 20th January 2024 at 5:30PM screening at the Park Inn By Radisson Palace Hotel in Southend-On-Sea, Essex, U.K. Peter Tilley, Alex Staunton-Hill, Eve Kathryn Oliver, Olivia Bennett and Sienna Shih shape up the cast of the film, with Peter and Alex being heavily involved within the creative process. Peter is the producer and co-creator of the project, with Alex taking centre stage as the writer, creator and also has a leading role in the film. Kemal Yildirim signed onto the project back In July, joining as Director, Editor and Director Of Photography. Kemal makes a triumphant return to the Horror-On-Sea Film Festival in 2024, after having his own feature film ‘The Haunting Of The Lady Jane’ which premiered at the festival in January 2023 and was welcomed with a positive reception. Annabella Rich, Nikko Turner, Max Russell, and Miles McAllister bring their special talents to the project within the crew team heavily involved working behind the scenes.
Entering the woods for a simple camping trip, four university students find themselves hunted for reasons unknown. A presence in the woods has shown itself making a connection. With their fates being intertwined in this place, how can they ever escape? Perspective is everything.
Peter Tilley (Producer/Co-Creator/Leading Role) notes that “this whole process has been absolutely bonkers but my god am I proud of what has been achieved in such a little amount of time, and to get the quality results we’ve got is a huge achievement for the entire team involved. The Foreboding was only conceived back in June, with myself messaging Alex one afternoon saying how I wanted to finally make a teen horror flick after
many years and try to get it into the Horror-On-Sea Film Festival for 2024. With the deadline for film submissions being the beginning of September, we had a matter of weeks to get this whole film done. Call me crazy! Cut to entering the pre-production process at the start of July, beginning the search for our cast and scouting a suitable location to portray this world and the story to it’s full potential. After a month of getting all this done, (god knows how!) filming started at the end of uly and then wrapping in early August just a matter of days later. The most stressful, crazy
experience transformed into the most creative, well built team I’ve ever had the pleasure of working alongside and experiencing within my career so far. And so here we are. From the end of June, to the end of October we’ve made it into the Horror-On-Sea Film Festival, with it’s world premiere scheduled for Saturday 20th January at 5.30PM. So please come and show some support, and if you dare, take a little trip into the woods with us.”
Alex Staunton-Hill (Writer/Creator/Leading Role) added “I think what we’ve accomplished in the time span we had is definitely an achievement. Having Peter basically ringing me up and going “Let’s make a film!” And wanting me to come onboard as the writer and create it was brilliant. I didn’t know he actually meant for me to play as one of the characters as well but I’m glad I did. This film has so many stand out moments for me, not just in it but behind the scenes as well. Having Kemal being amazing and supportive throughout the process definitely helped. He definitely made an impact.”
Kemal Yildirim (Director/Editor/Director Of Photography) stated “as soon as I read Alex’s script I knew I wanted to be involved. He created a great group of characters and entwined them within this oppressive and spooky atmosphere. I have always been a fan of ghost stories told within the confines of a group setting. The Foreboding for me is that very feeling of a friendship group on the cusp of change. Using the ghost story as a device to shake the foundation of their friendships and tell a good old fashioned ghost story.”
The Foreboding: Fractured has secured it’s world premiere for the Saturday 20th January 2024 5:30PM slot at the festival. If you would like to attend the screening of the film, tickets are available to purchase now via the official Horror-On-Sea website.
