It is Cult Faction’s sad duty to report that Dennis Waterman has passed away at the age of 74 years old.
A statement said: “We are deeply saddened to announce that our beloved Dennis, passed away very peacefully at his home in Spain.”
He died on Sunday afternoon with wife Pam at his side, they said.
“The family kindly ask that our privacy is respected at this very difficult time,” they added.
Waterman was known for his lead roles in The Sweeney, Minder and New Tricks. he also appeared in William, Fair Exchange, The Barnstormers, Scars of Dracula, Fright, The Sextet, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, Colditz, The Life and Loves of a She-Devil, Tubemice, Boon, On the Up, Stay Lucky, and The Knock amongst others. He also had a singing career and was known to sing the theme tunes of the shows he was in like Minder, Stay Lucky, On The Up, and New Tricks. His duet with Minder co-star George Cole, “What Are We Gonna Get ‘Er Indoors?”, reached the number 21 position on the UK chart in 1983.
