The Persuaders! celebrates five decades in style – again! – with this exclusive presentation of The Masqueraders: a brand-new English language version of a movie only previously seen in Europe. Shot on 35mm by seasoned feature film directors, the high production values of this classic television series lent itself easily towards being presented as full-length movies for European cinema exhibition, with eight made in total (though only four were completed in English).
Painstakingly constructed in widescreen from restored High Definition masters, The Masqueraders offers an entirely new movie experience, as might have once been conceived by the producers and distributors had they had the time and technical resources to create something beyond just splicing two episodes together with minimal bookending. This is a superior and more sympathetic movie presentation than the original while remaining true to the editing style and capabilities of the 1970s.
The Persuaders! was always a series of mini-movies made for television – this evening it can be watched as a movie! Join us for a celebration of The Persuaders!, Network Style, 50 years to the date of the final episode.
