The Scream franchise is back and so is one of the horror genre’s legendary villains, Ghostface. Paramount Pictures and Spyglass Media Group released a featurette for fans of the film series that showcases legacy cast members (Courteney Cox, Neve Campbell, David Arquette), executive producer Kevin Williamson and the future of the Wes Craven saga (Jack Quaid, Dylan Minnette, Melissa Barrera and Jasmin Savoy Brown) giving their insights on the upcoming production.
Trouble is brewing in Woodsboro as a new killer targets a group of teenagers hoping to resurrect secrets from the town’s deadly past. Newcomer Barrera stars as Sam Carpenter who happens to be the new target of Ghostface. Apparently, she has a skeleton in her closet and the masked murderer is determined to uncover it.
Of course, Dewey (Arquette) is pulled back in by Sam to track down the anonymous assassin before he/she can claim the next victim. With a little help from his old friend, Sidney (Campbell) and his ex-flame, Gale the trio join forces to put an end to the current reign of terror.
Scream is directed by the duo of Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett (Ready or Not) and will be in theaters on January 14, 2022. James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick wrote the screenplay. Rounding out the cast are Kyle Gallner, Mason Gooding, Mikey Madison, Jenna Ortega, Marley Shelton and Sonia Ammar.
