Tobin Bell reunites with Saw director, Darren Lynn Bousman for another terrifying horror film. According to Deadline, production just wrapped in Saudi Arabia on Cello.
Penned by Turki Al Alshikh and based on his novel of the same name, the story is about a budding cellist who learns that the cost of his brand-new instrument is more insidious than he originally thought. The English and Arabic language chiller also features Academy Award winner Jeremy Irons, Samir Ismael (The Day I Lost My Shadow) and Elham Ali (Ashman).
In addition to the stellar cast, the crew is no stranger to genre ventures. Cello was shot by Maxime Alexandre who was responsible for the gothic atmosphere of Mike Flanagan’s The Haunting of Bly Manor. Joseph Bishara, the composer of the scores for Insidious and The Conjuring is also on hand to provide a compelling soundtrack.
Bousman recently helmed Chris Rock’s Spiral: From the Book of Saw which was the ninth installment in the franchise. In addition to Rock, the movie also starred Max Minghella and Samuel L. Jackson.
What can fans expect from Bousman’s latest foray? Here is what the director had to say:
“I am excited for the world to see this terrifying tale from the mind of Turki Al Alshikh and am humbled to have had a small part in its creation.”
Expect a release date for Cello and an accompanying trailer in the near future. Until then, Bousman and Bell followers can watch the Saw franchise on Hulu, Amazon Prime, HBO Max, VUDU, Google Play, Apple TV, iTunes and FandangoNow.
