It is Cult Faction’s sad duty to report that David Lander, known across the world as Squiggy in Laverne and Shirley, has passed away at the age of 73 years old. David’s wife, Kathy, told TMZ that he died Friday at around 6:30 PM at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in L.A, as a result of complications from multiple sclerosis, which he battled for 37 years. Kathy, their daughter NatalieĀ and her husband were at David’s bedside when he passed.
As well as his success in Laverne and Shirley, David had roles in Department S, Rhoda, Happy Days, 1941, The Love Boat, Used Cars, Highway to Heaven, Galaxy High School, Matlock, Steele Justice, Simon and Simon, Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, Married with Children, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Freddy’s Nightmares, Midnight Patrol: Adventures in the Dream Zone, Twin Peaks, Batman: The Animated Series, Tattooed Teenage Alien Fighters from Beverly Hills, Homeboys in Outer Space, The Tick, Superman: The Animated Series, Hey Arnold!, Johnny Bravo, Zork: Grand Inquisitor, 101 Dalmatians: The Series, Diagnosis Murder, A Bug’s Life, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Recess, Scary Movie, Black Scorpian, The Simpsons, Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius, Green Lantern: First Flight, and SpongeBob SquarePants.
