Directed by Rene Cardona, Santa Claus vs. The Devil tells the little known tale of a time when Santa (José Elías Moreno) was working in outerspace battling Lucifer. After loosing to Santa a number of times Lucifer sends Pitch to Earth with a mission to ruin Christmas by killing Santa and “making all the children of the Earth do evil.”
Once on Earth, Pitch approaches five children at a market Lupita (a poor girl), Billy (son of wealthy but negligent parents), and three brothers who like a bit of mischeif. Pitch attempts to convince them to “make Santa Claus angry.” Pitch tries to get Lupita to steal a doll from a amrket stall but she refuses, but he does convince the brothers to break a shop window! Santa’s child workers alert him to what Lucifer is up to but he is unable to travel to Earth before nightfall on Christmas Eve!
Soon Santa (with Merlin the Wizard’s help!) engages in a battle with Pitch and Lucifer to save the children and Christmas!
