It has been announced that Taika Waititi has been hired by Disney and Fox to get the ball rolling on an animated Flash Gordon movie. This does not necessarily mean he will write or direct it but it does mean he will develop something that will be taken further.
He is also involved in an upcoming Time Bandits TV series, an Akira adaption, The Mandalorian, What We Do in the Shadows plus its spin-off We’re Wolves amongst other things!
