Deadline have announced that Diane Guerrero (Orange is the New Black, Superior Donuts) has been cast as Crazy Jane in DC Universe’s online streaming series Doom Patrol.
In the comic book “Crazy” Jane Morris is the dominant alternate personality of Kay Challis who in total has 62 different personalities with 62 different powers making her the most powerful member of the team but also the most unstable. She was created by Grant Morrison and Richard Case for their work on the Vertigo Comics version of the Doom Patrol. She first appears in Doom Patrol Volume 2 #19 (February 1989). According to the afterword in the first trade paperback collection of Morrison’s Doom Patrol, she is based on Truddi Chase the American author best known for the book When Rabbit Howls (1987), an autobiography about her experiences after being diagnosed with dissociative identity disorder.
