SWIPE is a short, futuristic, sci-fi thriller examining the consequences of technological developments in modern dating. Asha, a 30-year-old workaholic, needs to find a partner to make partner at her work firm. Immersing herself in a highly proclaimed virtual reality dating app, she embarks on a series of dates and faces questions of identity. However, not all is what it seems within the app. Technical glitches start to occur, forcing Asha to find out what’s really going on.
At the core of this story is a young woman trying to find her way through the labyrinth of society’s constraints and expectations. Transitioning through a range of emotional stages, we will really get a sense of this character’s vulnerability and struggle. But what makes this story unique, is that we see all of this played out through the incorporation of new technology. Particularly, a technology that isn’t far away from actually existing.
They have just completed principal photography of the film and are needing your help to get this project through post-production and into the festival circuit. Being a sci-fi thriller, a lot will come down to how we incorporate all the visual and sound elements, creating one complete, immersive story.
