It is Cult Faction’s sad duty to report that Oscar Goldman himself, Richard Anderson, passed away on Thursday in his Beverly Hills home at the age of 91 years old.
Anderson simultaneously played Oscar Goldman, leader of secret government agent the Osi, on both “The Six Million Dollar Man” and “The Bionic Woman” and their spin off movies. It was Anderson who voiced the now legendary words over the opening credits of “The Six Million Dollar Man”: “Gentlemen, we can rebuild him. We have the technology. We have the capability to make the world’s first bionic man. Steve Austin will be that man. Better than he was before. Better … stronger … faster.”
He also appeared in The Untouchables, Stagecoach West, The Rifleman, Daniel Boone, Thriller, The Eleventh Hour, Redigo, Combat!, Twelve O’Clock High, I Spy, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., The Fugitive, Bonanza, The Green Hornet, The Invaders, The Big Valley. Bus Stop, Mission: Impossible, Charlie’s Angels, Matt Houston, Knight Rider, Remington Steele, Cover Up, The A-Team, The Fall Guy, Simon & Simon, and Murder, She Wrote.
In 2007, Anderson was honoured with a Golden Palm Star on the Palm Springs Walk of Stars.
