Criminal charges dismissed against Jennifer Lien
The problems of former Star Trek: Voyager actress Jennifer Lien have been documented here previously, but we are happy now to announce that following her court hearing a few weeks ago all charges against her have now been dropped.
She appeared in Roane County General Sessions Court to receive the news:
“I know one factor was that she had fully paid restitution to HPD (Harriman Police Department) for damage done during the first incident,” said Public Defender Kim Nelson, whose office represented Lien.
The first incident occurred on April 14, 2015.
Lien was charged with evading arrest, resisting arrest, reckless endangerment and aggravated assault following a police pursuit.
According to court records, she refused to stop for Harriman officers and damaged some patrol cars while attempting to flee.
Lien was also charged with indecent exposure last year for allegedly exposing her breast and buttocks in front of children.
She paid $2,291.85 in restitution to the Harriman Police Department on Feb. 29 and was ordered to continue complying with her mental health treatment.
In addition to paying restitution, Lien also reportedly managed to go several months this year without any further incidents.
Officials said that was key.
“She had paid restitution in full to Harriman PD and had complied for six months or more without any further problems, and is supposedly doing well,” District Attorney General Russell Johnson said.
Nelson said her office is pleased with the outcome.
“All her cases were dismissed,” she said.
I hope Jennifer recovers and someday returns to acting.
