Written by Ben Steiner and directed by Peter Hewitt, Whatever Happened to Harold Smith? is a love story set in 1970’s Northern England.
The film focuses on Vince Smith’s (Michael Legge) efforts to date his office colleague Joanna Robinson (Laura Fraser). Vince attempts to get her to join him at the local disco, but unbeknown to him, Joanna is a punk rocker!
What makes this film Cult Faction worthy though is that all this happens against a backdrop of Vince’s father Harold (Tom Courtenay) becoming a minor celebrity due to his psychic powers that include mind reading and telekinesis. Does he have powers or not?
