Star Pilot (1966)
Star Pilot aka 2+5: Missione Hydra is a 1966 Italian science-fiction film directed by Pietro Francisci. For the record, 2+5: Missione Hydra was released in 1966. It wasn’t until the success of Star Wars that it was redubbed and released as Star Pilot in 1977.
In the film we meet aliens from the constellation Hydra who crash-land on the island of Sardinia. Leonora Ruffo plays Chaena, the commander of the spaceship.
A prominent scientist, his daughter, several young technicians, and a pair of Oriental spies (John Chan, Antonio Ho) are taken hostage by the beings so they can use them to repair their spaceship’s broken engine.
Once that is completed they take off towards their home planet, taking the earthlings with them for genetic research.
However, the humans attempt to mutiny against their captors, inadvertently sending their tiny spaceship hurtling into the infinite beyond which looks alot like stock footage from Doomsday Machine, Invasion of Astro-Monster and Gorath.
