Elektra is headed for Hell’s Kitchen, with Marvel and Netflix casting Elodie Yung (The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, G.I. Joe: Retaliation) in the role of the iconic Marvel superhero for Season 2 of Daredevil.
Yung was born in Paris, on February 22, 1981. Her father is Cambodian and her mother is French. She graduated from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and also has a Master Degree in Law from the University of Paris. It should be noted that when it comes to Daredevil, Yung has over a decade of experience in Karate to full back on!
The character of Elektra Natchios was created by Frank Miller and made her first comic book appearance in Daredevil #168 (January 1981). She is revealed to be a kunoichi – a female ninja assassin – of Greek descent. She wields a pair of bladed sai as her trademark weapon. She is alove interest of the superhero Daredevil, but her violent nature and mercenary lifestyle divide the two.
Elektra remains one of Frank Miller’s best-loved creations, and subsequent writers’ use of her is controversial as Marvel had originally promised to not resurrect the character without Miller’s permission. She has also appeared as asupporting character of the X-Men’s Wolverine and in other series and mini-series as well as adaptations for the screen.
