The Simpsons hit Minecraft!

It had to happen! Two juggernauts of popular culture had to cross-over! For the last twenty-five years The Simpsons have dominated popular culture including being featured in numerous video games, from 1991’s The Simpsons Arcade Game to 2012’s Tapped Out, but next month, they’ll make the leap into the world of Minecraft.

Xbox has partnered with 20th Century Fox Consumer Products to debut The Simpsons content packs for Minecraft Xbox 360 and Xbox One editions, featuring not only the Simpsons clan but also 19 characters from Springfield Elementary.

“We have an active community of more than 17 million die-hard Minecrafters on Xbox Live enjoying the wide range of downloadable content on Xbox, and they have been clamoring for us to bring Simpsons characters to the game,” Phil Spencer, head of Xbox, said in a statement. “We are thrilled to partner with Twentieth Century Fox and Gracie Films to bring The Simpsons to life on Minecraft Xbox 360 and Xbox One editions. I can’t wait to see what the community creates.”
