New Twin Peaks website launched ahead of Season 3

Showtime has released their official web page for Twin Peaks ahead of the show’s return to television in 2016.

The friendly “Welcome to Twin Peaks” sign sits on the homepage of the new Twin Peaks site.

“Coming to Showtime in 2016,” the homepage writes. “The Golden Globe and Peabody Award-winning series TWIN PEAKS will return as a new limited series. Series creators and executive producers David Lynch and Mark Frost are on board to write and produce all nine episodes, and four-time Oscar® nominee David Lynch will direct.”

Fans already knew this information, but the new website makes things official and will hopefully serve as a hub for the latest Twin Peaks news as filming begins.

Clicking on the “Learn more” link offers Showtime’s official press release on the quirky series’ return to television. The network is promising that the series will be answering some age-old questions from the original series, which aired from 1990-91.

“Twenty-five years later, the story continues,” the release says. “Set in the present day, TWIN PEAKS on Showtime will continue the lore of the original series, providing long-awaited answers for the series’ passionate fan base.”

So far there has not been any casting announcements as far as who is returning from the original two seasons. There are a few cast mates who seem to be suggesting that they will be in the revival though, including Kyle MacLachlan (Dale Cooper) and Catherine E. Coulson (The Log Lady).

Twin Peaks returns to television in 2016 on Showtime, though the network has not yet announced a specific air date.
