Terminator: Genisys – Huge update on the reboot!

Paramount recently announced the release dates for two sequels in the rebooted Terminator franchise for 2017 and 2018. The two films will be produced back to back.

Terminator: Genisys will arrive in the UK on June 26, 2015 and in the US on July 1.

Game of Thrones‘ Emilia Clarke, Jason Clarke, Jai Courtney, Dayo Okeniyi, Courtney B Vance, Matt Smith, Byung-hun Lee and JK Simmons will also feature in the rebooted franchise. Jason Clarke plays future freedom fighter John Connor, with Courtney as Kyle Reese.

In the reboot, Emilia Clarke’s Sarah Connor was orphaned at the age of 9 and spent the majority of her life protected by a Terminator who was programmed to protect, rather than kill. She will be skilled with a sniper rifle but socially awkward.

Speaking to EW, producer David Ellison said: “Since she was 9 years old, she has been told everything that was supposed to happen.

“But Sarah fundamentally rejects that destiny. She says, ‘That’s not what I want to do’. It’s her decision that drives the story in a very different direction.”
