Tucker’s Witch

If you like Bewitched and early 80’s detective dramas then Tucker’s Witch was the show for you! Originally running for twelve episodes between October 6th 1982 to November 10th 1982.

The original pilot was not shown though- titled The Good Witch of Laurel Canyon it starred Art Hindle and Kim Cattrall. It was shelved by the network due to Cattrall’s raunchy appearance in Porky’s, of which Hindle was also a cast member.

A new pilot was ordered starring Tim Matheson and Catherine Hicks as the married couple Rick and Amanda Tucker. The premise remained the same though with the Tucker’s owning and operating a private detective agency in Laurel Canyon in Los Angeles. They are very successful due to Amanda’s psychic powers, but they can also get the Tucker’s in trouble too!

Their investigations included finding out who was trying to kill reporter Jewel Porter (Elizabeth Wilson), realising a dead husband had a secret life, the Toltec Death Mask, criminal politicians, smugglers, an intellectual psychic, the murder of a female singer, missing persons and a host of murders!

Other notable appearances through the series include Jason Bernard, Blake Clark, Tracy Scoggins, Ian Abercrombie, Zitto Kazann, Lillian Adams, Ted Danson, Alexa Hamilton, and Nancy Cartwright.
