Time Walkers (1982)
Directed by Tom Kennedy, Time Walkers (aka Being from Another Planet) follows professor Douglas McCadden (played by Ben Murphy – Alias Smith and Jones) as he explores the tomb of the ancient Egyptian king Tutankhamun. During his investigation an earthquake strikes leaving McCadden in the tomb, only now thanks to the earthquake, a new hidden chamber has been revealed where as finds a mummy in a sarcophagus. Only it turns out the mummy is actually an extraterrestrial alien in suspended animation who has been wrapped in bandages and buried alive thousands of years before and covered with green fungus!
Later the “mummy” is taken to California where McCadden gets Dr. Ken Melrose (Austin Stoker) to examine it and student Peter Sharpe (Kevin Brophy) to X-ray it. The findings lead McCadden to organise a huge press conference but before that happens Peter reviews the x-rays and discover there are five crystals around the head of the “mummy.” Peter steals the crystals and makes new X-rays to cover up his theft. He sells four of the crystals to students who are unaware of their origin. The second set of X-rays overdose the body with radiation which causes the green fungus to re-activate the alien and awaken him from suspended animation…
