The California Dolls (1981)

Directed by Robert Aldrich, The California Dolls (aka …All The Marbles) follows wrestling manager Harry Sears (Peter Falk) and his female wrestling tag-team the California Dolls – Iris (Vicki Frederick) and Molly (Laurene Landon).

It plays out like a road movie with Harry and The Dolls on the road trying to earn a living wrestling and having to suffer cheap hotel rooms and occasional mud wrestling matches in a bid for the big championship match in Vegas.

As their journey continues they cross paths with the Women’s World Tag-Team Champions the Toledo Tigers – Diane (Tracy Reed) and June (Ursaline Bryant) and their manager “Big” John Stanley (John Hancock) as well as gangster Eddie Cisco (Burt Young).

Can Harry and the Dolls reach Reno, Nevada for a big championship match against The Toledo Tigers at the MGM Grand?
