Debuting in 1989 for the Amiga, Amiga CD32, Atari ST, and Commodore 64, Grandslam Entertainment’s Chambers of Shaolin took much inspiration from the 1979 movie The 36th Chamber of Shaolin. You play as Hang Foy Qua, a man who has traveled from his hometown of Queping, to the monastery of Shaolin in Tibet in order to train under the temple. His reason? His younger sister has been kidnapped by the Emperor and he must get her back!
Initially Hang must pass a number of tests to show his skill as a fighter. This include mastering agility, balance, fire, speed, stick, and strength. Once the skills tests have been completed it is time for 1-on-1 fights with other Shaolin fighters. Performance in the previous trials will impact the your skillset and strengths against other fighters.
