Space Raiders (1983)

Produced by Roger Corman, and written and directed by Howard R. Cohen, Space Raiders follows Captain C.F. “Hawk” Hawkens (Vince Edwards) – a former Space Service Colonel turned pirate – who leads his crew on a mission to steal a freighter owned by an interstellar corporation simply referred to as “The Company.” During the heist a shootout takes place injuring one Hawk’s crew. As they are dealing with this a 10-year-old boy named Peter (David Mendenhall- who would go on to play Sylvester Stallone’s son in Over The Top) appears and asks to be taken home.

Initially Hawk wants to ransom Peter but later changes his mind after Peter courageously volunteers to squeeze into a tight compartment and fixes a damaged power conduit that allows them to escape Company fighters. Hawk promises to take Peter back to his home planet, Procyon III, with no strings attached but before he can do that they must rest a while at a space station owned by an alien crime lord named Zariatin (Ray Stewart)…
