Fritz Weaver passes away aged 90

It is Cult Faction’s sad duty to report that Fritz Weaver has passed away at the age of 90 years old. He is survived by his wife, his daughter Lydia Weaver, his son Anthony, and a grandson. His sister, Mary Weaver Dodson, a four-time Emmy-nominated art director known for her work on Murder, She Wrote, sadly passed away in February.

Weaver made his film debut in Fail Safe (1964), and is also well known for his roles in Marathon Man (1976),  Black Sunday (1977), Demon Seed (1977), Creepshow (1982) and The Thomas Crown Affair (1999).

Among many television roles, he performed in two seminal projects: 1975’s The Legend of Lizzie Borden and the 1978 mini-series Holocaust, for which he was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award. He was further known for his work in science fiction and fantasy, especially in television series and movies like The Twilight Zone, Friday 13th: The Series, Star Trek: Deep Space 9, Murder She Wrote, Magnum P.I., Wonder Woman, Kung Fu, Mission: Impossible, Night Gallery, The X-Files, The Martian Chronicles and Demon Seed.
